The Edward R. Murrow High School Theater Program recognizes the value of theater education as a means of guiding students' development of a wide range of essential academic, artistic and life skills.
The mission of the Edward R. Murrow High School Theater Program is to challenge students to become well-rounded, engaged, inquisitive theater artists. Throughout our student-artists' four-year sequential course of study all students will gain experience as actors, writers, readers, dancers, designers, directors, and critics, and will experience a variety of roles as members of an ensemble and cast.
For the student who seeks immersion in theater, we provide the structure and facilities for their training, culminating in guidance through the college application and audition process. All Ensemble Theater Program/"Screened Theater" students sit for the Comprehensive Theater Examination Exit Project throughout their senior year.
For students who are exploring theater as a means of enhancing their high school experience, we provide relevant new experiences and frames of reference through which to view their education and the world.
